Getting started
A guided tour of your account from first login to first trade.
Welcome to KnightsVault. This guide walks you through the first hour with the platform — from setting up your account to placing your first trade.
Step 1 — Verify your identity
Before any funds can move on or off the platform, regulatory rules require us to verify who you are. Open the Onboarding tab in the top bar and follow the on-screen prompts. You will need:
- A government-issued photo ID (passport, national ID, or driving licence)
- A recent proof of address (utility bill or bank statement, less than 3 months old)
- For institutional accounts: certificate of incorporation and a list of beneficial owners with a 25%+ stake
Most retail verifications complete in under 5 minutes. Institutional KYB typically takes 24–72 hours of compliance review.
Step 2 — Enable two-factor authentication
While verification is pending, set up 2FA. Go to Profile → Two-Factor Authentication and scan the QR code with an authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, or 1Password). Save the backup code somewhere safe — without it, recovery requires a manual support process.
Step 3 — Whitelist a withdrawal address
You will not be able to withdraw to any address that is not on your whitelist. Open Wallets → Whitelist and add at least one destination per asset you plan to use. New whitelist entries enter a 24-hour cooling period before they become active — this is a security feature, not a bug.
Step 4 — Make your first deposit
Once verified, choose an asset on the Wallets page and click Deposit. The platform shows you a unique deposit address (and QR code) for that asset on the chain of your choice. Send a small test amount first; deposits are credited once they reach the required confirmations:
| Asset | Confirmations required |
|---|---|
| BTC | 3 |
| ETH and ERC-20 | 12 |
| BNB and BEP-20 | 15 |
| TRX and TRC-20 | 20 |
Step 5 — Place your first trade
With a balance available, head to Trading. Pick a pair, choose Limit or Market, set the size, and submit. Limit orders rest on the book; market orders fill immediately at the best available price.
